If you’ve been trying to learn the Axel and feel like you’re going in circles (literally!), I want you to know this:
It’s not just you.
The Axel jump isn’t just another jump. It’s a journey. A mental and physical challenge that trips up even the most talented skaters.
But here’s the thing: it’s not about talent.
It’s about understanding.
I still remember learning the Axel years ago. I thought the loop jump was hard, then Lutz came along and blew my mind! These jumps took weeks to grasp. Now the Axel… This can take months, if not years of work to land!
I remember the struggle of rotating, the struggle of landing it, the falls, the confusion over the way it worked. But I also remember THAT FEELING. That day it turned up and I finally landed it!
That moment taught me about resilience, it taught me hard work pays off and it taught me a life lesson I am grateful to have about achieving something you set your mind to!
Some struggles with Axel come from coaches teaching the way they learnt (A mistake I made as a new coach 20 years ago!) Axel doesn’t have a one size fits all technique – it has a few variations to get the job done!
I’ve seen in 35 years of skating and over 20 years of coaching every variation going and I’ve taught many skaters through the Axel.
That’s why I created something special to help you unlock your Axel – with real technique, real training, and real mindset shifts.
