Jump Specific Warmup
Welcome to our training session! Before we begin, it's important to take a few minutes to properly warm up. Warming up is crucial in preparing the body for physical activity and preventing injury. A proper warm-up will increase blood flow, raise muscle and core temperature, and improve flexibility, which will help you perform at your best during the training session. It can also help to mentally prepare you for the workout ahead. By taking the time to warm up properly, you'll be setting yourself up for a successful and injury-free training session. Let's get started!

Jump height and rotation warmups

How to use this course
This course has been split into sections instead of a full length class. This is becuase we recognise people learn at different rates and also skaters won’t be learning all their double jumps at the same time. The course is LIFETIME access to take your time guys!
Double jumps require refinement of shaping, timing, jumping, air position, rotation and landing stability. These foundations must not be rushed. I’d recommend you spend the most time on these at the start of your journey with doubles.
By the time you have noticed an improvement with these you should now know most of the drills you need to continue this progress.
That’s when we can apply them to the jumps themselves.
Then i’d like you to notice what’s happening as you try the jumps:
- Is your landing unstable? Work the landing section
- Is it under rotating? Work the rotation section
- Are your jumps smaller than you'd like? Work the jump height section
- Is your air position open? Work the air position section
- Are you opening out too soon or pulling in too late? Work the shaping and twizzle sections
- Is there too much rotation to control or not enough to feel like the double is possible? Look at the minimum and maximum jump entries for that jump
Apart from that, remember the basics:
- Always do a warmup
- Always start with landings before any jumping
- Pick and choose sections as you need them
- Remember the exercises... especially what problems they solve, use this course as a database of exercise solutions!
