What did we do well? Could do better?

all stars- massive pb and an amazing season |
The balance of off ice and relaxing time at skating worked really well and reflexes well on the scores we achieved. In the future we could do more big ice, and have one single person to do comp hair. |
How can we welcome new members better?

maybe have something like a get together or something like when we used to have the synchro sleepover ahaha and do some team bonding etc |
Not have the “older one” and new ones separate and have us all mixed together occasionally |
Making sure they skate with all the team members and get the chance to chat to all of them. |
make simple step routines up before the on ice sessions so that they get more a feel for actually skating in a team. Let us show our programmes so they know how we actually skate |
New rules for the team suggestions

What coaches say goes, parents do not have an influence on the team selection. Should be based on levels, attendance and if they fit in with the team.
Alternates have to work there way into the team, still have to show up, take part. |
How can we challenge you?
Answers |
more difficult turns etc |
Put difficult elements in to challenge us but listen to us if we say that it does not work and we can all work something else out? |
Getting us to try new things like duck under spirals and harder synchro elements to challenge us not just to challenge us individually but as a team. |
Push us to do the harder elements like double twizzles and difficult turns in the programme even if someone can’t do it, they need to then work towards it so it can be skated in competition, without pushing for the harder moves, people won’t practice them |
How can we improve the team selection process?
Answers |
strongest skaters, not trying to be fair |
Before and during the season look at office and on ice register of who attends and who puts in the most work throughout the season should get a place in the team- a space shouldn’t be expected, should work for it. |
Skate people in the program to see how they pick it up.
Push for harder moves as a team activity and see who can/can’t do them. |
